Lisa Francis of Fox Harbour, Placentia Bay, was cooking a Jiggs dinner for the family supper last Sunday afternoon. She headed to the nearby Gateway Mini Mart in Dunville to pick up some vegetables and decided to buy a Set For Life scratch ticket.

Francis said she scratched the ticket on her way back home and saw the three Set For Life symbols and couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw them. Francis and her boyfriend turned around and headed back to get the ticket validated.

The health-care worker in Placentia said she will continue to work, and plans are being made to go to Disneyland with her son and boyfriend. She’s also going to go on a “shopping spree for me.” There are plans to build their own home now with her windfall.

Set for Life winners have the option to take $1,000 a week for 25 years, but she decided to take the lump sum alternative of $675,000.00
